Last week, Known Gallery presented the exhibition titled Sketchy M%#herfuckers featuring artwork by 7th Letter writer RIME and artist KC which showed currently with Dabs Myla’s Break Night Lovers (covered). The show included a variety of works which covered the gallery’s walls with colorful characters and bright colors. RIME shared a variety of sketches and works on canvas which demonstrate his signature style characters and settings. Keeping up with yet another mural going up across the streets of Los Angeles, we caught up with MSK/AWR graffiti writer RIME as he was putting up his signature character design in the arts complex overseen by Warren Brand. This Branded Arts project is yet another addition to the growing list of artists such as Herakut (covered), Dabs Myla (covered) and most recently Anthony Lister (covered) who all have left their imprint at the Culver City complex. Not only were the street artists active in Miami for Art Basel Week, the writers were out in full force as well. Take a look at this sweet new wall from Jersey Joe aka RIME, whose indoor work we last saw in Los Angeles in August. As you know, REVOK, RIME, and ROID recently opened a fantastic new show Perseverance at the Known Gallery in Los Angeles (covered). The three writers were actually in Detroit prior to the show working on the paintings and incubating ideas. Apparently, they also found time to make a pit stop in Chicago to paint this wall before heading to California. Sharing the stage with the street art at Art Basel Week Miami were the graffiti artists although the lines between the two are sometimes blurred. With events like Graffiti Gone Global, crews from all over the country could be seen working on throwups, tags, and large complex pieces putting their handstyles and techniques on full display.
