The anticipation that has been built up over the past few months by Ryan McGinley, starting with his few teaser pieces at Art Basel, has finally culminated in the opening of his first solo show in over a year. Arguably the best photographer of his generation and one of the freshest talents today, McGinley debuted a exhibition of 24 new photographs ranging in size from the manageable 9″x14″ to the spectacularly impressive 110″x72″. Looks like the book we mentioned when we first told you about Ryan McGinley’s upcoming show is ready for preorder.Â Entitled “Moonmilk,” the same as McGinley’s show, which is set to open Alison Jacques Gallery on September 11th, the book documents his subterranean explorations for this body of work (previewed). Everyone’s favorite FREE subversive culture, art, photo, and music magazine, VICE, is soon releasing their annual Photo Issue.Â To celebrate, VICE, in association with G-Shock, will be hosting a photo exhibition.Â The launch event will be held on Aug 12th at The Printspace in London.Â The show will remain there for two weeks before touring to Spain, Italy, and France.
