Yoskay Yamamoto’s (interviewed) show “Hello and Goodbye” is set to open next month, May 9th at LeBasse Projects in Culver City. We are looking forward to larger paintings and some sculptures from Mr. Yamamoto for this solo as well as some installation pieces. Take a look at one of the sculptures after the jump…

Another great group show is underway at Lazarides (Newcastle Location). This time, the exhibition that opened last weekend is entitled “Outsiders Selection” and features original paintings, prints and sculpture from Faile, Antony Micallef, Blu, Ian Francis, David Choe, JR, Conor Harrington, Damien Hirst, Paul Insect, Invader, Polly Morgan, Kelsey Brookes, Vhils, Jonathan Yeo, Herbert Baglione, Zevs, and more.Â Although the art was mainly older work, there were many standout pieces including this stunning “Flying Copper” (seen above) by Banksy suspended in glass/plexi.Â Many more pics […]

Christie’s will be auctioning off the eclectic collection of the late Yves Saint Laurent next week starting Feb 23rd. The incredible collection of nearly 700 artworks were accumulated over decades by Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre BergÃ© valued at up to $425 million including Old Master drawings, Roman sculptures, Renaissance bronzes and works by Ingres, GÃ©ricault, Frans Hals, Picasso, Matisse, Braque, LÃ©ger and Mondrian. If you remember, we were quite intrigued with Jin Young Yu’s transparent sculptures that were displayed at the Pulse Fair at Art Basel Miami last year. We were lucky enough to be able to interview her because of the efforts of AM friend Stella Im Hultberg (interviewed), who provided the translation for the Korean sculptor as well as added some questions of her own. Andrew Schoultz and AJ Fosik opened up a pretty amazing show full of complex installations last weekend at Space 1026 in Philadelphia. We have never really envisioned their work interacting but the kinetic energy of Schoultz’s frenzied imagery blends nicely with the sculpts of Fosik’s beasts and folklore – perhaps it’s the complementary color palettes.
