PangeaSeed Foundation recently took off on another large expedition – accompanied by 29 international and local artists as they launched the newest edition of their Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans street art festival in Napier, New Zealand. This initiative is part of their ongoing efforts to raise awareness, stimulate dialogue, change perception, and inspire positive change around pressing ocean environmental issues through the power art, science, and creativity. It’s time we do another summary of public art from around the globe with another Street World Roundup feature. Leading things off is an impressive new anamorphic mural from eL Seed that covers almost 50 buildings in the neighborhood of Manshiyat Nasr in Cairo, Egypt. Not long after the duo’s US debut show (covered), Interesni Kazki’s Waone flew to Varkala, India, where he painted his first black and white mural. The Ukrainian artist, known for his surreal public works, colorful paintings, and elaborate drawings, was able to fulfill his goal of creating a B&W mural, resulting in this striking wall being painted on a local rooftop with the help of his family and friends. Streets: Blu Buffing His Own Murals In Bologna

After buffing his murals in Berlin back in December 2015, protesting against gentrification of the area, Blu just started erasing all of his murals in Bologna. Backed up by his friends from the XM24 and Crash collectives, many murals were destroyed over night and more are being deleted today. The reason for such drastic action is an upcoming show Street Art: Banksy & Co. – L’Arte allo Stato Urbano, opening on the 18th of March in his hometown. After painting the impressive Kaos Temple few months ago in Spain (covered), Okuda San Miguel recently got an opportunity to paint another place of worship, with the result being pretty impressive. Located in Youssoufia, Morocco, the church was completely covered with the imagery of the prolific Spanish artist for the Street Art Caravane event. The finished work titled 11 Mirages to the Freedom consists of 11 main characters that are incorporated in the architectural sections of the building itself. After successfully painting what was billed as the world’s largest outdoor mural (covered) for last year’s NuArt Festival, French artists Ella & Pitr recently returned to Norway to create couple of new pieces in and around Stavanger. This time, they painted another giant in the center of the city, taking a tumble in a dilapidated four-story building. Streets: Phlegm (New Zealand) – Part II

Phlegm has made good use of his visit to New Zealand to get up some of his signature imagery. Along with a piece in Dunedin, he also painted a larger piece in Wellington on the side of a building where sound heads were made for movie projectors. Streets: Phlegm (New Zealand) – Part I

Recently in Dunedin, New Zealand, the ever busy Phlegm finished a new mural on the side of a structure featuring some of his signature characters riding a Giant Moa. The striking image features the long extinct flightless bird endemic to the area that could grow to 12 feet tall and weighed about 500 lbs. POW! WOW! Hawaii ’16 / Streets: Slinkachu

After a look (here & here) at most of the murals painted for this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii, we now focus in on some of the work for the event that you may have missed. Created on a miniature level by Slinkachu, the tiny sculptures were scattered and hidden in plain site around Oahu, including underneath some of the muralists, leading to some interesting collaborations.
