Showing: ROA – “Defragmentation” @ The Scarlett Gallery

As we reported on earlier this month, not only did ROA reveal a new body of work entitled Fragments at the Scarlett Gallery in Stockholm (covered), he also created a separate special installation for his fans in Sweden. Defragmentation features his animalistic anatomical works in the form of wall murals and individual paintings with the Belgium-based street muralist’s signature movable panels. Openings: Os Gemeos – “Miss You” @ PRISM

On Saturday night, dynamic duo Os Gemeos finally revealed their much anticipated new body of work, Miss You, at the PRISM in Los Angeles. As hoped for by their fervent fans in LA, the twins created an immersive installation throughout the architectural showspace featuring their whimsical imagery in the form of large-scale paintings, sculptural elements, and weavings. Openings: Rosson Crow – “BALLYHOO HULLABALOO HABOOB” @ Honor Fraser

Over the weekend, the Honor Fraser Gallery hosted the opening for BALLYHOO HULLABALOO HABOOB, Rosson Crow’s (featured) second solo at the Los Angeles showspace. The new body of work marks a departure from her signature imagery of decadent interiors from the past rendered with colorful urban references (last seen in 2010 here and here), and sees the LA-based painter move her narrative towards a looser and more abstract look at scenes of American growth and decline, all with a more muted palette. Showing: ROA – “Fragments” @ The Scarlett Gallery

As you saw from our preview and look at his street work in Stockholm, ROA was recently hosted by the Scarlett Gallery in Sweden in a two-part event. First up is Fragments, where the Belgium-based street muralist put on a showing where the inside space was converted into a makeshift laboratory and workshop where his imagery was painted on bottles, tool boxes, pinned onto a bulletin, and on found objects. Preview/Set Up: Herakut – “After the Laughter” @ Lebasse Projects (Chinatown)

On this busy art weekend, one of the highlights will be the new exhibition from German duo and streets artists Herakut. Openings: “When Herakut Met Lucent” @ The Palace Theater

Last weekend, German street artists Herakut teamed up with circus troupe Lucent Dossier for a performance at the legendary Palace Theatre. The two day event, dubbed appropriately When Herakut Met Lucent, incorporated the duo’s artwork in with the talents of all the performers creating an incredible experience of bringing their signature characters to life. Openings: F*CK Art @ Museum of Sex

AM recently attended the wild premiere of F*CK Art, at New York’s Museum of Sex.
