Last month, Bill Brady in Miami opened a solo exhibition from Michael Kagan (featured) entitled We Have Felt The Ground Shake. For his first showing with the gallery, the Brookyln-based artist presented a new selection of his signature astronaut paintings, rendered with a loose touch. Previews: Michael Lau – “COLLECT THEM ALL!” @ Christie’s (Hong Kong)

Starting on April 11th, Christie’s in Hong Kong will be showing a series of new works from Michael Lau entitled COLLECT THEM ALL! The selling exhibition from what many consider to be the godfather of the art toy figures will features paintings as well as sculptures, most of them with his familiar characters as the central focus. Previews: Miles Johnston – “Interoception” @ Last Rites Gallery

Tonight (March 31st) in New York, Last Rites Gallery will be opening the debut solo show from the Sweden-based Miles Johnston entitled Interoception. Combining a fascination for Escher-like visual illusions and a darker grotesque sensibility, the instructor at the Swedish Academy of Realist Art will be presenting an intriguing collection of oil on linen paintings and graphite on paper drawings. Basel Week HK ’18 / Showing: Yoshitomo Nara – “Ceramic Works and…” @ Pace Gallery

A couple days ago, during Basel Week Hong Kong, Pace Gallery inaugurated its second gallery in Hong Kong (12/F H Queen’s 80 Queen’s Road Central) with an exhibition by Yoshitomo Nara entitled Ceramic Works and… As the title suggests, the center of the new space was dominated by ceramic head sculptures from the Japanese artist, three dimensional representations of his instantly recognizable anime-inspired portraits.
