Preview / Installation: Swoon – “Anthropocene Extinction” @ Boston ICA

After presenting The Big Easy with her stunning Thalassa installation at the New Orleans Museum of Art in June, Swoon (interviewed) is moving on to her next project.  On the occasion of its 75th anniversary, The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (ICA) has commissioned the Brooklyn-based artist to create an installation for the Sandra and Gerald Fineberg Art Wall. Portuguese artist Pedro Matos is set to open his first solo show in the United States on September 3rd at the Shooting Gallery in San Francisco. Entitled Ephemera, the new body of work features his oil on canvas paintings emulating the torn and faded posters frequently seen pasted on the side of buildings in an urban environment.
