Streets: Phlegm (Berlin)

Invited in by Urban Nation for their continuing series of public arts projects, British artist Phlegm recently painted this challenging mural on a corner building in Berlin. As part of the One Wall Project, the Sheffield-based artist expertly navigated the architectural details on these walls in the Schöneberg area and livened up the cityscape with his signature characters.  Take a look at more of the beautiful details below… Discuss Phlegm here.

Videos: Vhils – “Incision”

Last year, we brought you images from Vhils’ (filmed) show in Brazil where portraits of the country’s indigenous Araçaí community were carved the doors of their homes and put on display at at Caixa Cultural. Nowness released a video a couple days ago from the Portuguese street artist that looks into the project a little deeper and hopes to draw attention to the plight of the 90 Guaraní people were moved by the government at the turn of this century, displacing them from their ancestral homes. Streets: Nychos (Vienna)

Last month, prolific street muralist Nychos painted a mural in his Vienna entitled Dissection of a Polar Bear. Over five stories high, the wall painted is the first large scale piece the Austrian artist has worked on in his hometown and coincides with creative studio, Rabbit Eye Movement, which just celebrated their 10 year anniversary. KAWS Designs Trophy For SpongeBob SquarePants 400 Nascar Race

Continuing to raise his profile and to familiarize the general public with his signature imagery, KAWS has teamed up with NASCAR to design the trophy for the SpongeBob SquarePants 400 coming up at the Kansas Speedway on May 9th (although it might be delayed due to the weather). Streets: ROA (Jersey City)

As mentioned in our interview with ROA last month leading up to his solo (covered) at Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York, the prolific street artist also had plans to paint a mural in New Jersey while in the area. Recap: artMRKT San Francisco 2015

Last week, the fifth edition of Art Market San Francisco welcomed a record 25,000 visitors to Fort Mason Festival Pavilion over the five days it was open to the public. A wide range of works were on display at premier contemporary and modern art fair in the Bay Area including works from Kevin Earl Taylor (seen above) as well as many familiar and new names to our readers. Releases: DALeast – “egariM” Print

Marking the upcoming Main Street exhibition at the Mohammed VI Museum (MMVI) of modern and contemporary art in Rabat, Morocco, Print Them All just announced the release of a limited edition by DALeast (interviewed). Streets: Stephen “ESPO” Powers (Miami)

Stephen Powers recently shared photos of a massive mural he painted at The Carlton Hotel in Miami, directly behind The Betsy Hotel.
