Streets: Andrew Schoultz @ SXSW

After attending this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii and completing a large collaborative mural for the event, Andrew Schoultz headed to Austin, Texas for his next project. Juxtapoz & Converse have teamed up to bring the Los Angeles-based artist to SXSW where he painted another big wall, this time with a sweet tank embellishment. The Underdogs Gallery is Lisbon is currently showing a solo from a young illustrator, graphic designer, and visual artist, AkaCorleone. Otherwise known as Pedro Campiche, the Portuguese artist began as an active writer in Lisbon’s graffiti underworld, and has since started exhibiting his work in 2010. After bringing you extensive coverage of this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii, it’s time to recap the rest of murals that we didn’t have time to focus on. AM stopped by the How & Nosm studio in NYC around time when the artistic duo was finalizing their preparations with Pace Prints for their collaborative print project. POW! WOW! ’14 / Streets: Andrew Schoultz & Hannah Stouffer

Another collaboration that grabbed our attention during this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii was a long joint mural from Andrew Schoultz and Hannah Stouffer. The waves and kinetic imagery from Schoultz provided a nice contrast to the softer forest renderings and volcanic eruptions of Stouffer, providing an interesting continous landscape for the people who pass by in the industrial district of Kaka’ako.
