For this exhibition, they invited 30 artists from all over the world to participate and help the cause. Capetown-based artist DALeast is opening a highly anticipated solo show with The Outsiders in Newcastle on the 22nd of November. The title of the show, Redok, comes from a Tibetan phrase meaning “hope and fear,” and represents the emotions the artist tries to show with his works. The main part of this coherent new body of work are six large scale acrylic on canvas pieces on tea stained backgrounds, created over many months. Berlin’s Circle Culture Gallery recently opened their third gallery space, in addition to its other two venues in Berlin (Mitte and Hamburg). After “twelve years of fusing fine art with pop art and subcultural art,” expansion to a new, 560 sqm former warehouse on Potsdamer Strasse was a logical next step for the gallery. A couple weeks ago, Word to Mother (interviewed) returned to San Francisco’s White Walls (see 2012) for a new solo show. Entitled California Coming Home, the London-based artist’s fresh selection of paintings incorporated Cali imagery around his signature character based on his own persona. Danish artist, graffiti writer and illustrator, HuskMitNavn (RememberMyName in Danish), recently released a book of drawings – Offline. The title of the book is the artist’s response to the trend of our life moving into the online realm, with help of virtual communication and social networks. A book release was held on the 15th November at Schaefer Grafisk in Copenhagen where 92 original drawings featured in a book were exhibited and available. One year since his last solo show at Ruttkowski;68 in Germany, Brazilian artist Finok aka Raphael Sagarra will be presenting his solo show at Smith Galleria in his hometown of Sao Paolo. Opening on the 23rd of November, and on view until 21st of December, Despacho is shaping up to be Finok’s strongest show to date. Shortly after finishing new series of hand painted mono silkscreens (covered), the NYC-based How & Nosm flew to Portugal to take part in the ongoing Underdogs Project. As announced earlier this year, Raoul and Davide Perre are on a list of participants which also includes Interesni Kazki (covered), Cyrcle (covered), Maismenos, Alex Fakso, Martha Cooper, Vhils & Pixel Pancho.
