Revisiting their installation (covered) from 2012 in the Favela of Vila Brasilandia, at the north of Sao Paulo, Boa Mistura returned to update the project. Entitled Luz Nas Vielas, the undertaking saw the collective paint a series of words and colors through their signature use of anamorphosis in the alleyways of the favela. Releases: KAWS x Uniqlo x Peanuts

Although we’ve barely warmed up to KAWS’ latest product (covered), he surprises us with even more news via Instagram. “I’m happy to finally be able to announce a new project releasing this April with Uniqlo…” Like his previous Uniqlo project, there will be KAWS x Peanuts apparel as well as some plush toys apparently this go around (see below). Following the initial news on the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 (covered), we now not only have an official release date for the collaboration, but also a great preview of the apparel that will be released alongside the shoes. The Jordan X KAWS capsule collection is highlighted by the Air Jordan IV designed with the Brooklyn-based artist and will include an apparel collection made up of a coach’s jacket, hoodie, t-shirt and five-panel cap. Fresh from the opening of his Lisbon solo show, Felipe Pantone spent several days in Napa Valley working on his latest mural for the RAD Napa project (curated by Thinkspace). Streets: Hula – “Maka’u” (Hawaii)

Continuing his series of works in hard to reach locations, Hula recently painted a mural on the edge of a waterfall entitled Maka’u. Dealing with issues of fear, as suggested by the title, on multiple levels, the piece saw the Oahu-raised artist otherwise known as Sean Yoro suspend himself on the edge of a waterway on surfboard as he took risks to paint an image of a person hanging on by a rope. One week since Banksy’s latest & arguably one of his strongest stunts to date was revealed to the public, we’ve received the first official photographs of The Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem (covered). With local visitors enjoying the quiet space in an otherwise loud and turbulent area, these images give us an even closer look at the hotel premises, including the artworks which the infamous artist created & installed in the former pottery workshop building.
