Streets: Aryz // Jidar Festival (Morocco)

Recently in Rabat, Aryz had the opportunity to return to Morocco for another mural and to drink “avocado juice.” Painted on the side of a six story building, the beautiful new piece features one of the Spanish artist’s reoccurring still life images. Invited in by the good people of the Jidar Festival, he left a wall covered in his recognizable smooth style and pastel palette that the locals will not soon forget. Discuss Aryz here.

Recently in Culver City, California, Kenny Scharf (interviewed) was able to paint some of his signature characters on the sides of a building overlaid over a colorful background of drips. It looks like while there, he also took time to continue his series of what he calls Karbombz where he paints the outside of a lucky fan’s automobile. Previews: Swoon – “To Accompany Something Invisible” @ Allouche Gallery

Tonight (April 27th) in New York, Swoon (interviewed) will be opening a new solo entitled To Accompany Something Invisible at Allouche Gallery. The comprehensive new body of work from the Brooklyn-based artist will feature some beautiful installation boxes, prep sketches and preliminary paper cutouts, as well as works on mylar, wood cuts and found objects. Rounding out the show in the Meatpacking District will be a look at elements of her studio practice on opening night including interactive printing demonstrations and paper cutting. Releases: Pixel Pancho – “Hold You Up Forever” Screenprint

Pixel Pancho will be releasing his new, self produced print Hold You Up Forever on the 26th of April via his online shop. Somewhat more simple than his usual work, the image was originally created as a sketch for Valentine’s Day. Due to the overwhelming response by his fans and friends, the Italian artist has decided to develop this sketch into a print. Upcoming: Boris Tellegan – “Pieces” @ Backslash

Returning for his third solo show with Backslash on April 20th, Boris Tellegen aka Delta will be presenting a new body of work entitled Pieces. Included in the exhibition are a series of paper collages (pictures here), sculptures, and installations, all strongly influences by the Dutch artist’s interest in architecture (also seen with his work on the streets). Rounding out the show will be a projected video that retraces the lettering he famously applied to trains between 2014 and 2017. Discuss Boris “Delta” Tellegen here.

Stolenspace Ballery in London is currently hosting a double solo show, presenting new works by The Lost Object and Low Bros. The first is an Amsterdam-based artist who is showcasing his latest body of work created with discarded or abandoned materials, while the Berlin-based art brothers putting their newest retro futuristic animal-based compositions on display.
