Continuing their longstanding public arts program, Urban Nation in Berlin recently completed their ninth edition – Project M/9. Curated by JUSTKIDS and StreetArtNews, the event this time hosted Borondo (seen above), Fafi, Bicicleta Sem Freio, Askew, 1010, and Eron as they painted walls in the capital city with “Colors” as the theme. Building on the themes he first unveiled with an installation on the first and second floor of the Eiffel Tower back in November, Shepard Fairey (featured) opened a new solo last night at Galerie Itinerrance entitled Earth Crisis (more on this later). Recap: Rose Beton Festival (Toulouse)

Curated by Tilt, the second edition of the Rose Beton Festival in Toulouse (FR) paid tribute to the graffiti scene. The festival kicked off with an exhibition at Chateau d’Eau featuring the iconic photographs by Martha Cooper & Henry Chalfont (interviewed) as well as emerging photographer Sylvain Fargot. The Musee des Abattoirs is then taken over with installations by Boris Tellegen (covered), Mist, and Craig Costello while Tilt brought back his Voyage Retour car installation that he created during his recent residency at Jardin Rouge in Marrakech. After sharing with you what Phlegm painted for Cities of Hope in Manchester, we now have photos from what the other artists contributed to the unique event. Openings: Futura – “NEW HORIZONS” @ Library Street Collective

Last weekend, Library Street Collective in Detroit hosting the opening for Futura latest solo show entitled NEW HORIZONS. Along with all new paintings that features some of the graffiti legend’s signature abstract color studies with gyroscopic structures as well as his old school pointman characters, new large-scale pieces were prepared for the outdoor space in BELT Alley for the PUBLIC MATTER series of works. Precisely one month ahead of his upcoming London solo debut, Pejac has revealed his latest series of public interventions around the city. Titled Downside Up, these simple and striking installations are once again proving his ability to create an unexpected twist on common things and reality in general. The twelfth edition of the Volta Fair in Basel returned to its dome home at Markthalle. As one of the satellite events to the main Art Basel expo (covered – part 1, part 2), the fair featured a selection of galleries and artists that included 68 exhibitors from 20 countries worldwide.
