Moving a lot around Europe lately, Rustam Qbic recently visited the Italian city of Ravenna where he painted his contribution to the Subsidenze Street Art Festival. Working three long days in the warm Italian sun, the Kazan artist quickly finished this new piece titled Immigration. Measuring 15m x 5m, this wall is a nice example of the symbolic surrealistic images that Qbic has been painting around the globe. After seeing her wall mural painted for Guzzo Club in Barcelona, we have wondered how Cinta Vidal’s work would translate to the streets. With her recent series of experimental pieces with her friend Uriginal on the streets of her hometown, fans of her work now have an idea. In May, we shared with you the amazing takeover by JR (interviewed) at the famous Louvre in Paris where he pasted over the iconic pyramid using photographs of the surrounding structures. Looking at the right angle, it appeared that the pyramid in the main courtyard “disappears” from sight. Who better to collaborate with next in an inception-like project than with China’s disappearing man – Liu Bolin? After two months of participating in 999 Foundation’s Artist Resistance Residency, Seth aka Julien Malland will be revealing his solo show entitled Range Ta Chambre (Clean Up Your Room) in Rome on the 7th of July. On view for only one night, the show will be held at Teatro India in Rome’s Ostiense district, and will be followed by similar events. Openings: KAWS – “BFF” @ Central Embassy (Bangkok)

A couple of days ago, Central Embassy in Bangkok unveiled the latest large-scale sculpture from KAWS, standing 8 meters tall outside their complex. Produced with the help of curator AllRightsReserved, the event also featured a plush version of the figure, which looked to be a cross between Elmo & The Cookie Monster, remixed the the Brooklyn-based artist’s double-x eyes and skull & cross bones. With this year’s POW! WOW! Long Beach fast approaching, the installation of the associated group show is already underway at the Long Beach Museum of Art with murals being prepped by a large roster of artists. Vitality & Verve: In the Third Dimension is presented by the museum in collaboration with Thinkspace & POW! WOW! LB and will feature originals, installations, and murals (just like last year). Earlier this month, Buff Monster painted a new mural in Montreal for this year’s edition of the Mural Festival.
