After updating you with a new mural from Augustine Kofie (featured) in Detroit, it’s time to share some more fresh work from three other artists involved with the project. Curated by the Library Street Collective for a downtown mixed-use development (referred to as “The Z”), the undertaking had many American artists involved like Matt W. Moore, Push, Victor Reyes. Nike Vault at the STAPLES Center recently launched The Kobe Prelude Experience. For eight weeks, they are showcasing Kobe inspired artwork by different artists, and every Saturday they will unveil a new piece. Each piece is tied to a key moment in Kobe’s career. Dutch painter Chris Berens recently opened his long awaited first ever solo show in Japan at the Megumi Ogita Gallery in Ginza, Tokyo. Nensha was artist’s only show for 2013 and he created a completely new body of for it, which was strongly inspired by Japanese culture, tradition and life style. Back in October, we shared with you a project that the Library Street Collective in Detroit had arranged at a downtown mixed-use development (referred to as “The Z”). A series of murals had been painted already in the ongoing venture at that time and now we have updates for you on some of the newer walls. During Art Basel Week, numerous artists trek to Miami to set up artistic pop-up projects. One of our favorites this year was by the Brooklyn-based Faile and Bast. They brought their nostalgic arcade-based exhibition entitled Deluxx Fluxx to entertain both the eyes and souls of patrons that stopped by their fresh throwback arcade. One of our contributing photographers in the past, Birdman, recently arranged for some artists to paint in an abandoned water park located somewhere in the Mojave Desert between California and Las Vegas.
