Previews: Ludo – “Fly Me To The Moon” @ Magda Danysz Gallery (Shanghai)

Ludo (interviewed) is currently in Shanghai, putting the final touches on the works for his upcoming solo show opening on March 21st at Magda Danysz Gallery, Shanghai. Fly Me To The Moon is a project that includes works that the young French artist worked on during his visits since November 2014 until March 2015. During these visits he pasted many street works around Shanghai and Hong Kong, soaked in the visuals and the energy of the locales, but also collected materials for producing gallery works. His signature imagery […]

Streets: Ludo (Amsterdam)

Ludo (interviewed) recently spent a few days in Amsterdam, leaving his mark around the city and its canals. Pasting mostly skull based pieces, the Paris-based artist left some familiar images as well as introduced few new concepts. As seen in the photos, the works were done around the Jordaan neighborhood of the city, an area already known for great street art. From iconic Faile images, large The London Police murals, to Space Invaders, this old part of the of the capital is now richer which these works by Ludo. […]

Streets: Ludo (Hong Kong / Shanghai)

Right after releasing his recent limited edition lithograph (covered), Ludo (interviewed) traveled back to Hong Kong and China, and pasted some fresh works there. Continuing his ongoing Chaos Theory theme with butterflies as a signature character, in Hong Kong he left an image of a butterfly with handcuffs holding his wings along with the Both Sides of a Gun image he introduced in France back in August. These new pieces are probably referring to the  turbulent situation in the country and the clashes of protesters with the […]

Releases: Ludo – “344” Print

We just received these images from Idem Studio in Paris showing Ludo (interviewed) adding final touches to his upcoming lithograph (edition of 99), set to be released Thursday, 11th of December with PrintThemAll studio. The title is 344, and is one of the butterflies he introduced at his recent London solo at Lazarides (covered). With the title of the recent show, Chaos Theory, in mind, referring to the global situation and human influence on nature & environment, the French artist picked an image representing the butterfly effect. Using his signature black and […]

Streets: Ludo (Shanghai)

Only few weeks after opening his solo show in London (covered), Ludo took off on another adventure continuing to spread his imagery around the world. Following up on his series of public works he’s already done in Thailand and Japan earlier this year, the French artist recently visited China and manage to leave his mark in one of the most restricted and controlled countries. Placing his green & black pasteups on some ruined buildings somewhere in Shanghai, Ludo combined nicely his recognizable post apocalyptic imagery with […]

Openings: Ludo – ‘The Chaos Theory’ @ Lazarides Rathbone

Following our recent studio visit, AM attended the opening for the solo exhibition of Ludo (interviewed) entitled The Chaos Theory at Lazarides Rathbone. Live butterflies were fluttering during the event in London, much to the delight of onlookers. Inspired by the theory of “The Butterfly Effect,” the French artist decided to focus on a more personal interpretation of his cultural inspirations with a selection of neon green and monochrome canvases. See more photos below… Photo credit: Butterfly. Discuss LUDO here.

Studio Visits / Previews: Ludo – ‘The Chaos Theory’ @ Lazarides Rathbone

We popped by the studio of Ludo (interviewed) in Paris as he prepares for his London solo show The Chaos Theory at Lazarides Rathbone. Using his trademark neon green and monochromatic palette, the Frenchman’s new body of work illustrates themes of chaos, through a battalion of futuristic mechanical butterflies. Blending nature and human technology with anatomical and technical precision, Ludo references the accelerated pace of life in which people continually strive to keep up with the ongoing race against the clock. The frail and ephemeral butterfly image has […]

Streets: Ludo (Paris)

LUDO (interviewed) is currently back home in Paris, spending long days creating new works for his upcoming London solo show at his studio, and pasting up public works on early weekend mornings. Over the past weekend, he created this double billboard piece on the streets of the French capital, taking up the advertising space while propagating his imagery. By bastardizing the iconic Coca-Cola logo and the company’s visual identity, he created an image of a Coke can with his familiar Pina Colada image, along the altered motto “Enjoy Ludo […]
