Later this month, the ARCOMadrid fair will see Eli Ridgeway display all new works from Matthew Palladino (interviewed) at their booth. The SF-based gallery recently hosted Palladino’s solo show in 2012 (covered) as well as repped him at the Texas Contemporary Art Fair in 2011 (covered), so they are well aware of the hypnotic quality of the NY-based painter’s work as well as his intriguing plays on perspective. This latest set of paintings is not any different as they all feature clever distortions of reality and oftentimes plays on pop references.
