Almost two years after her last show in New York, Nicoletta Ceccoli (interviewed) has unveiled new paintings at AFA NYC. Entitled Sweet & Low, the fresh body of work continues the exploration of her delicate female characters in a land of dessert. As seen commonly in the San Marino-based painter and illustrator’s work, the innocence of the setting is balanced by an undercurrent of dark themes seen when her imagery is examined more closely. After a successful LA debut show last month (covered), Thierry Noir was back in London working on an important commission for the German Embassy for the 25th anniversary of the “Fall of the Wall” in collaboration with Howard Griffin Gallery. As their closing exhibition for the year, Galerie d’art Yves Laroche in Montreal opened a huge group show titled Égrégore. We recently received these exclusive shots of Pejac working on an indoor mural in London. Titled Entelequia (entelechy), this beautiful symbolic piece was commissioned by the Sushisamba restaurant for their Heron Tower private entrance. the new image mixes elements of his previous work – cherry blossom flowers from his recent image and sold out print release Sepukku (covered), with a girl on a swing, one of the images he used to paint on windows. Six months after the initial announcement, Jeremy Geddes decided to go ahead with a new timed release for the Hypostasis print. Made after an original painting that was shown at the Juxtapoz Magazine 20th anniversary show (covered), as a part of his Cosmonaut series, the image is a sequel or a revisited version of his iconic Red Cosmonaut piece. Arrested Motion was on hand for the Saturday, November 8th opening of “Momentum”, the three person show featuring Mars-1, Oliver Vernon and Damon Soule at Space Gallery in Denver, Colorado.
