Spanish artist Sam3 recently visited Barcelona where he created a new beautiful mural titled Park. Rendered with his familiar technique of using only black color and painting silhouettes, this public piece feels both very light and strong, fitting perfectly to the environment it is placed in. The piece shows four trees whose treetops form heads which communicated with each other with birds flying from one tree to the other. Danish street artist, HuskMitNavn, reacently teamed up with Spain-based Canadian artist Michael Swaney for their first collaborative show, The Hanging, that opened at Ruttkowski;68 gallery in Cologne, Germany on the 6th of December. The main goal of this project is to create and sell limited art edition prints in collaboration with international artists, but also, telling a story about the artists and their work. On the 22nd of November, The Outsiders in Newcastle opened a solo by Chinese born artist DALeast (interviewed). For this show, the South Africa-based painter created six large canvases, as well as six matching pen on paper studies, a video installation, and an exclusive limited edition etching created at gallery’s print studio. PressurePrinting.com recently released a postcard portfolio from Dutch artist and illustrator, Femke Heimstra, just on time for her new website launch. Famous for her recognizable “anthropomorphic animals that roam in a dark, fairytale like world, together with all sorts of characters”, she often paints with acrylics on old surfaces like antique panels or books.
