Jim Houser is currently setting up his upcoming show (previewed) entitled HUSH with Andenken / Battalion Gallery, the American artist’s first solo in Amsterdam. Releases: Tomoo Gokita x Case Studyo – “A Bathing Beauty” Sculpture

Taking a painting from his show at Mary Boone Gallery last year (covered), Tomoo Gokita has brought the faceless beauty he created to life with the help of Case Studyo. Entitled A Bathing Beauty like the painting, the new bronze sculpture will be released tomorrow through their website in two colorways – white & black. The very limited edition (8 + 3 AP’s) will come in a silkscreened wooden box and include a signed and numbered certificate from the Japanese artist. Discuss Tomoo Gokita here.

Showing through this Saturday at Joshua Liner Gallery in New York is Erin M. Riley’s (interviewed) solo show entitled Darkness Lies Ahead. The exhibition gives fans a good look at some of the different series of works she has woven so far in her career including the Selfies featuring portraiture sourced from young women on the internet as well as from her own self-portraits and The History Pieces, works that document car crashes, skid marks, and the residue of trauma. Berlin-based artist James Reka is currently in Milan, adding the final touches to his upcoming solo show opening at Avantgarden Gallery on June 4th. While travelling to Morocco for the opening of Main Street show at Mohammed VI Museum (MMVI) of modern and contemporary art (covered), as well as taking part in the Jidar street art festival there, Maya Hayuk made a stop in Paris to work on her new limited edition fine print.
