Scheduled to open next month, the new Fashion Outlets of Chicago may be somewhere art fans in the area should plan a visit for. Artists (see full list here) like Daniel Arsham, FriendsWithYou, and Jen Stark were commissioned to create installation pieces for the new venue (arranged by The Arts Initiative & Primary Projects). AM recently had the pleasure to visit the studio of multi-disciplinary artist Jen Stark as she prepares for her debut solo show in Canada tonight (6-10 pm) with Cooper Cole in Toronto. The LA-based artist’s process is meticulous and her studio is very well organized with numerous projects coming to life simultaneously. Currently showing at the Eric Firestone Gallery in East Hampton through July 2nd is a new exhibition from Bäst. SEAFOAM features the NY-based street artist’s gritty paintings, mixed-media, and sculptural works, many of which use found materials from his home shores of Coney Island.
