Releases: Ludo “Victory” lithography

Coinciding with having his work as a part of  Jonathan LeVine Gallery’s A Conversation Between Friends (covered) at the Juxtapoz Clubhouse during Basel Week Miami, Ludo (interviewed) just announced his upcoming print release. Scheduled for Wednesday, November 30th, at 6pm (Parisian time, GMT+1) via his website EnjoyTheViolence.com, Victory is actually one of his works featured in the show. The image depicts the infamous Winged Victory of Samothrac or Nike of Samothrace upgraded with a recognizable twist by the French artist. Damien Hirst’s Newport Street Gallery is currently showing the first major solo exhibition from British artist Gavin Turk since 2002. Who What When Where How and Why spans twenty-six years of the artist’s career throughout the six gallery spaces featuring over seventy works including new and previously unexhibited work drawn from Hirst’s extensive art collection. Previews: JonOne – “Crossing Over” @ Galeries Bartoux (New York)

A couple of weekends ago, Thinkspace hosted Stella Im Hultberg’s (interviewed) new show in their project room concurrently with Audrey Kawasaki’s solo in the main space. Streets: D*Face // The Unexpected 2016 (Fort Smith) – Part II

As a follow up to the Warpaint mural he painted for The Unexpected event in Fort Smith, Arkansas last month, D*Face (interviewed) added a companion installation at the east entrance to downtown. The creation of the five larger than life arrows from repurposed telephone poles was underwritten by the Choctaw Nation, with the Oklahoma-based tribe also giving the British artist some historical context as well as making sure the design of the arrows was authentic. Releases: Os Gemeos – “Efêmero” Book

Pirelli HangarBicocca recently released a new book documenting the creation of Os Gemeos’ intervention for their Outside the Cube project (covered). Efêmero includes exclusive photo documentation of the project along with text by project curator Cedar Lewisohn as well as an overview of the duo’s most important artworks. The large mural that was painted over the course of only several days (back in April of 2016) was dedicated to the mother of the famous Brazilian art twins. Last Thursday, Joshua Liner Gallery held an opening reception for the New York showspace’s solo exhibition with Parra. Following up on his first Adrift print release, James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing the Adrift II print starting tomorrow morning (November 21st) at 8:00 AM PST. The time-limited edition will be available for 24 hours and will never be reprinted after this release. Tomorrow morning (November 21st) at 8am PST, Porterhouse will be releasing two editions from Mark Ryden (interviewed) featuring the image from his Queen Bee painting.
