Patrick Martinez x Kobe Bryant for BlackRainbow Magazine

French magazine BlackRainbow recently unveiled the cover of their latest issue featuring Kobe Bryant on the cover posed with the work of Patrick Martinez in the background. The basketball themed release (limited to 100 copies) can be purchased on BlackRainbow‘s Parisian flagship store and online. In it, Kobe can be seen in front of Martinez’s signature neon works as well as a large painting. Danish photographer Søren Solkær is set to launch a series worldwide exhibitions in conjunction with the release of his latest book. Surface is the definitive portrait anthology of some of the most significant street artists in practice today. Previews: Spazuk – “Récidive” @ Galerie C.O.A

On the 26th of January, Galerie C.O.A in Montral will be opening Récidive, a solo show by the “fire painter” Spazuk. The distinctive technique he uses is called fumage, which allows him to use the flame of a candle or torch as a “paintbrush” to create his paintings with trails of soot. He later manipulates these trails by using various needles, razors, and makeshift bird feather pens, which result in incredibly detailed black and white works on canvas, panel or paper. Streets: Meggs (Los Angeles)

Recently in Los Angeles, Meggs teamed up with mobile game company Com2uS to paint an expansive mural promoting new and original content surrounding Summoners War. The new piece covering 2000 square feet of wall in Downtown LA (568 South Sante Fe Ave) features well known characters from the game such as Arch Angel, Dragon, and Angelmon rendered in the Melbourne-based artist’s signature aesthetic.
