Just like the previous intersections of popular animated series and our art world (see Souther Salazar x Family Guy, Shepard Fairey x Family Guy, Shepard Fairey x South Park, and Ron English x Simpsons), Futurama has now upped the ante with a clip of Bender running around putting up “street art” stylized after the tile work of Invader. AM recently brought you details of the ProjectRoom event that Jaybo and Remi/Rough held last month in London with Juice 126. The artists combined their talents to create three collaborative pieces of work on the night. This nicely produced video gives some background of the project coming together, along with footage of the live painting itself, so now you can enjoy the fun even if you couldn’t make it. Event: Flood Tide – Remixed @ Rooftop Films

Tomorrow night, Rooftop Films will kick off its summer screening series with a special free event entitled Flood Tide: Remixed. The event will feature a 50-minute composition of footage from Flood Tide, a film shot on the Hudson River during Swoon (interviewed) and friends’ 2008 Swimming Cities of the Switchback Sea raft project. Over the course of the last year, we were able to see bits and pieces of the new graffiti-animation that Blu has been working on. Looks like all that hard work has paid off in a stunning new video – “Big Bag Big Boom”.
