The official opening of the Urban Nation Museum this weekend in Berlin turned the entire area into an open-air art gallery with an extensive program that included performances, workshops, show acts and more. For this event, the organizers managed to shut a section of the bustling Bülowstrasse and turn it into an art venue called Art Mile. Painting over the course of five days for Urban Nation, Andreas Englund’s latest creation is a clever take on Rodin’s sculpture The Kiss. Pairing the iconic piece from the French sculptor with his own Voyeur sculpture, the two part mural (at Bülowstraße 93) executed with an expert three-dimensional perspective is a striking piece with commentary on modern society. On the 30th of April, Blain|Southern in Berlin officially opened Harland Miller’s show Tonight We Make History (P.S. I Can’t Be There). As previously announced, his first solo in Germany included an all new body of work that incorporate his own designs, as well as a selection of the classic pieces from the infamous Penguin Books series.
