Tonight (June 27) at Giant Robot 2 in Los Angeles, Still Life will open featuring the work of Mike Lee and Vincent Nguyen. For those who frequent Starbucks, you will have no doubt seen artwork that looks disturbingly similar to the work of Maya Hayuk, an artist whose work has been covered here on AM for a while. Currently in the Hamptons, at Eric Firestone Gallery, the San Diego-based Kelsey Brookes has a series of works on display that continue his abstract exploration of molecular structures. Moving on from painting colorful artistic interpretations of neurotransmitters (here, here & here), the former biochemist has turned his attention to naturally occurring hallucinogenic botanical compounds – Muscimol, Ergoline, Scopolamine and Ibogaine – Plants Of The Gods. After leaving a memorable mark in Malaga, Spain in 2013, Shepard Fairey (featured) will be returning to the CAC Malaga for an exhibition opening on June 26th. After sharing some initial photos of artists painting murals for the Vitality and Verve: Transforming the Urban Landscape exhibition opening June 26th at the Long Beach Museum of Art (LBMA), we now have some more shots for you from over the weekend. After bringing you a look inside the Cyrcle. (featured) studio as they prepped for their Montreal solo, we now have some photos from the opening to share with you.
