Releases: Tomoo Gokita x Case Studyo – “A Bathing Beauty” Sculpture

Taking a painting from his show at Mary Boone Gallery last year (covered), Tomoo Gokita has brought the faceless beauty he created to life with the help of Case Studyo. Entitled A Bathing Beauty like the painting, the new bronze sculpture will be released tomorrow through their website in two colorways – white & black. The very limited edition (8 + 3 AP’s) will come in a silkscreened wooden box and include a signed and numbered certificate from the Japanese artist. Discuss Tomoo Gokita here.

Showing through this Saturday at Joshua Liner Gallery in New York is Erin M. Riley’s (interviewed) solo show entitled Darkness Lies Ahead. The exhibition gives fans a good look at some of the different series of works she has woven so far in her career including the Selfies featuring portraiture sourced from young women on the internet as well as from her own self-portraits and The History Pieces, works that document car crashes, skid marks, and the residue of trauma. Showing: Daniel Arsham – “Future Relic 3” @ Cannes Film Festival

American artist Daniel Arsham is presenting the third installment of his Future Relics series at the 68th Film Festival in Cannes. The short film features actress Juliette Lewis. In parallel to the screening, an exhibition entitled Future Relic 3 on display at the Club Albane at the Marriott, presenting relic items from the film industry era including film camera, microphones to videotapes all recreated in Arsham’s signature technique.
