From the 26th of March until the 10th of April, the Belgian coastal city of Ostend hosted The Crystal Ship festival on its streets. Better known for their beer festival, the town instead gifted their public space to world-renowned artists to create works through the city. After successfully painting what was billed as the world’s largest outdoor mural (covered) for last year’s NuArt Festival, French artists Ella & Pitr recently returned to Norway to create couple of new pieces in and around Stavanger. This time, they painted another giant in the center of the city, taking a tumble in a dilapidated four-story building. Continuing their ongoing series of sleeping giants murals, art duo Ella & Pitr recently finished a massive new piece in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Depicting a little baby peacefully sleeping with his mother by its side, the mural was created with the help of locals that volunteered to help the project. On January 14th, Galerie Le Feuvre in Paris opened the 3rd edition of the annual Paper Party group show. Their first exhibition of the year features the same concept they started a few years ago, showing five artists represented by the gallery – Mist, Paul Insect, Ella & Pitr, Pixel Pancho and Daniel Muñoz – San. One of the highlights of this year’s NuArt Festival is the completion of what is billed as the world’s largest outdoor mural in Klepp, just outside of Stavanger. Created by French artists Ella & Pitr along with a crew of some 30 volunteers, the 21,000 square meter mural was completed before the festival officially started.
