Jeff Soto Time-Lapse

Jeff Soto recently posted up a time-lapse video on his blog of him painting “The Corruption of Mankind,” one of his largest pieces from his show at the Riverside Art Museum. It’s always interesting to get a glimpse of an artist’s creative process. Discuss Jeff Soto here.

Seen: Jeff Soto Talk & Book Signing

Jeff Soto gave an interesting talk along with a slideshow last night at the Riverside Art Museum to his strong fan base in the area.  He covered his graffiti roots, childhood, inspirations, and took the audience through a progression of his work.  It was very instructive to hear what was important (family, Riverside area, politics, etc) to Jeff in his painting, and to really understand the transitions and beginnings of his work.  Afterwards, he took time to sign books and chat with all his fans. Openings: 15 Years of New Image Art

Last night’s opening for “15 Years of New Image Art” (previewed here and here) reaffirmed why New Image Art is one of the primary driving forces in the alternative/low-brow/street art scene. The show was everything we thought it would be and more – great art, an energetic crowd, and non-stop entertainment. AM congratulates Marsea Goldberg and the entire New Image Art team on an amazing fifteen years! See all the artwork and photos from the opening after the jump.

In you’re in Los Angeles, don’t miss this milestone event! There are amazing pieces on hand from such notables as Aiko, Anthony Lister, Antonio Diaz, […]

Openings: Jeff Soto @ Riverside Art Museum

Riverside native Jeff Soto returned to his roots last night for his first museum show entitled “Turning in Circles” (previewed). Judging from the great turnout, his hometown liked what they saw.  There were familiar faces as well as many new ones, with a large number of fans making the trek east from the greater LA area for this epic show. Everyone walked away impressed by the scale and quality of this mostly new body of work – for good reason as Jeff poured his heart […]
