Over the weekend, AM headed out to Los Angeles to check out a solo from D*Face (interviewed) at a popup location in West Hollywood (315 S. Robertson Blvd). Greeted by an installation featuring a giant D*Dog sculpture crushing a police cruiser with full on smoke, fans were hyped up to enter the gallery space to take in a new body work from the British street artist. The last time we saw a solo show from the Clayton Brothers in Los Angeles (covered), it was 2011. Those who are familiar with Chet Zar’s (interviewed) beautifully grotesque imagery would not be surprised if they heard Halloween was one of his favorite holidays. This year, Copro Gallery in Los Angeles will be celebrating in fashion with a vintage costume party on October 18th along with the opening of a new solo show from the locally-based artist entitled All Hallow’s Eve. Coming up on October 11th, Luke Chueh (featured) will be opening his next solo in Los Angeles at CHG Circa. Streets: D*Face (Los Angeles)

With D*Face’s (interviewed) show opening soon (next weekend) in Los Angeles, the British artist was busy completing a new mural at the same location as where the popup exhibition will be held (315 Robertson Blvd). Featuring his Lichtenstein inspired imagery as well his signature wings, the caption reads “You’re Dead To Me.” Check out more photos below and see you at opening night. Photo credit: Birdman Photos. Opening on Saturday, September 20 is the first solo show by gallery artist Rob Sato at Martha Otero. The LA-based artist will exhibit to his home-town audience mainly works on paper, but will also include baseballs (he played the sport as a kid) and sketchbooks. Yesterday, AM stopped by Thinkspace Gallery to take a look at the new body of work from Kelly Vivanco. Entitled Peculiar Tides, the fresh paintings worked off a nautical theme where her characters are situated in seaside or underwater environments. Completing the whimsical nature of the show was an installation of ship sculptures (seen above) on a wall of waves, where some of the creatures seen in her work can be seen piloting the vessels. Last night, the Honor Fraser Gallery hosted the highly anticipated return (covered) of Brian Donnelly (aka KAWS) to Los Angeles with a show entitled Man’s Best Friend. As implied by the title, Snoopy, along with a cast of familiar characters from Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts series were the focus of the Brooklyn-based artist’s imagery.
