Releases: James Jean – “Pomegranate” Print

James Jean (interviewed) recently released woodblock print that he created at the Adachi Institute in Tokyo. The limited edition (run of 50) features a young woman using the red color dripping from a pomegranate as makeup, a beautiful example of the Japan-based artist’s artistic vision and craftsmanship. There’s a hole in the ground and it’s playing your song is the name of a new etching that Candice Tripp (interviewed) recently released. The limited edition (run of 25) has been in the works for quite a while but after several months, two plates, three test proofs and a lot of cramping, it is ready for purchase. Releases: James Jean – “Kali” Print

On March 23rd, James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing a new time-limited print (starting 8:00 AM PDT and available for 12 hours only) through his webstore entitled Kali. The image is taken from one of his paintings for his show in Tokyo last year (covered) and features the Japan-based artist’s surreal take on the Hindu goddess of empowerment. Releases: KAWS – “Man’s Best Friend” Print Set

Pace Prints just announced their newest print release with KAWS. Man’s Best Friend is a monumental set of 10 black and white screenprints, similar to the installation shown at his 2014 show at Honor Fraser Gallery (covered). Based on Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts, the prints are KAWS’ take on the popular cartoon. On March 20th, Joao Ruas will be releasing a print set entitled The Rites of Spring. Inspired by Igor Stravinsky’s masterpiece Le Sacre du Printemps, the limited editions will be available at 8:31AM (PST) the exact moment of the Vernal Equinox on the Northern Hemisphere. Releases: Josh Keyes – “Afternoon of a Faun” Print

Earlier today, Josh Keyes (interviewed) continued his longstanding collaboration with Tiny Showcase by releasing another print. Afternoon of a Faun is a 12″ tall by 18″ wide time limited edition and will be available from March 1st until March 8th (noon Eastern Time). Priced at $55, each sale will contribute $15 to the Nature Conservancy which works toward protecting nature, for people today and future generations.
