The biggest and arguably the most important outdoor piece of Nuart festival 2017 was the 4 story mural painted by Ricky Lee Gordon. For this large scale diptych the festival joined forces with Amnesty International, helping them spread the word about their Brave campaign. Through this campaign Amnesty is helping people that are taking enormous risks to stand up for our rights. On September 29th Martin Whatson will be opening his first ever solo show in LA, at yet undisclosed location. Revive is set to be his largest and most elaborate exhibition to date, with several installations and brand new paintings and will stay on view until October 8th. After many international projects and murals, Bezt from Etam Cru recently got a chance to paint a mural in his homeland. The result is this peaceful yet intriguing piece titled Blue Monday in Bielsko Biała, in the south of Poland. Choosing a very limited color palette, mostly consisting of different shades of blues and purples, the Polish artist painted this four story tall image of a woman carrying a lush flower pot for the “oBBraz miasta # 4” project organized by the Bielska Gallery Foundation and Bielsko BWA Gallery. Spanish artists Sebas Velasco & Iñigo Sesma, recently took part in the refreshing Graffiti Na Gradele festival on the scenic island of Brac in Croaita. The two San Sebastian-based friends and studio mates painted a new collaborative piece titled Yugoslav riviera at the children park on the edge of the local harbor.
