It seems that Shepardâ€™s recentÂ dramaÂ with the AP and Boston’s finest doesn’t phase the higher-ups in the Contemporary Art world. AM has learned that Shepard Fairey’sÂ debut solo museum exhibition “Supply and Demand,” which opened (covered)Â at the Boston ICA in February, will be traveling to at least two other museums. Shepard Fairey did some urban “spring cleaning” in Austin this past weekend in time for the SXSW Festival. Visiting the Lone Star state with buckets of wheat paste and some good old fashion Obey elbow grease, Shepard hit up many prominent spots including Lance Armstrong’s Bike Shop: Mellow Johnny’s, Red 7, Emos, Home Slice, and many more. Street artist Shepard Fairey was featured in an awesome segment on CBS News Sunday Morning. The video features an in-depth interview, provides a look at his “Supply & Demand” retrospective at ICA Boston (covered), discusses his recent arrest (covered) and legal issues with the AP, and contains some great footage of a young Fairey from the documentary “Andre the Giant Has a Posse.” Note: There is a brief twenty second CBS commercial preceding the video. Marcel Dzama recently collaborated with David Byrne on this video from N.A.S.A. featuring the track “The People Tree.” This isn’t Marcel’s first foray into the music field as he has done album cover work in the past for artists such as They Might Be Giants and Beck. Shepard Fairey arrested in Boston

It seems that the Boston Police Department were not at all impressed by Shepard Fairey’s status as Presidential portraiture or his 20-year retrospective at Beantown’s Institute of Contemporary Art. According to The Boston Globe and Huffington Post, Fairey was arrested last night around 9:15pm as he tried to enter the ICA, where he was scheduled to DJ the museum’s sold-out Experiment NightÂ dance-party (with tickets going upwardsÂ $500 on Craigslist).
