Releases: Nuart Festival 2016 Box Set

In collaboration with Nuart Gallery (former Reed Projects), Nuart Festival has released an exclusive series of signed limited edition prints to support this year’s event. The box set consists of a total of 14 prints measuring 12” (30 x 30cm), one from each of this year’s participating artists. Each box set consists of 6 gicleé and 8 hand-pulled screen prints, giving a chance for collectors to own part of Nuart history while helping to fund the festival. With only one day left for artists to finish their works for this year’s Nuart Festival, a lot murals and smaller pieces are getting completed as we’re writing this. Here’s another quick overview of what’s been happening on the streets of Stavanger in the last two days since our last update. While AM is getting ready for trip to Norway for Nuart 2016, we just received couple of work in progress photos by festival photographers Brian Tallman, John Rodger and Calum Lasham. Giving us a taste of what is currently happening on the streets of Stavanger, these shots are just a teaser of what this year’s edition will produce in the Norwegian oil capital. After sharing with you what Phlegm painted for Cities of Hope in Manchester, we now have photos from what the other artists contributed to the unique event. On May 7th, Athen B. Gallery opened a solo show by Axel Void at their pop-up location (222 Broadway St.) in Downtown Oakland. As a tribute to regular people, paying homage to mundanity and the everyday life, Nobody is built around the life story of Alvie Morris. On May 7th, Athen B. Gallery will host a pop-up solo by Axel Void. Titled Nobody, the exhibition will open at 222 Broadway St. in Downtown Oakland at 7pm. The Miami-born artist, whose real name is Alejandro Hugo Dorda Meys has been known for dark, often figurative works that mixes text, classical painting and drawing. Meys also creates large murals on the street, which like his gallery work, regularly addresses social issues and the everyday problems of regular people while pointing out injustice and cruelty. Back in November of 2015, the city of Gainesville coordinated the beginning of 352walls (The Gainesville Urban Art Initiative project). Curated by Iryna Kanishcheva, the first edition of the event was recently completed while producing 11 murals by internationally recognized artists, plus 10 murals by local artists and a bunch of electrical boxes interventions throughout the Floridian city’s downtown.
