Openings: Charming Baker “The Meaning of Everything” London Exhibition

Last night was the preview opening of Charming Baker’s latest pop-up show “The Meaning of Everything” in London (previewed). The building was filled with excitement as Charming exhibited his latest body of work which showcases his mastery of abstract environments, loose strokes and detailed backgrounds with creative textures. We are excited to see Charming continue to take his talents and progress to another level. Remember this show doesn’t last long, so be sure to stop by before June 14th! AM was lucky enough to get an advance look at what will surely be the most sought after pieces at “Self-Portraits,” Circle Culture Gallery’s latest offering opening tomorrow, Friday, June 5th in Berlin. Seen above is JR’s “Self-Portrait in a Woman’s Eye, Kenya” from the 28 Millimetres series and is a brilliant use of a subject to capture an image of himself. When it comes to limited edition releases, one of the best in the game is Pressure Printing. As we previously reported, Arkitip is putting out a special collaboration issue with Shepard Fairey andÂ the release is right around the corner. To celebrate theÂ launch of Issue 51 and all it’s Obey goodies, ALIFE is transforming their Hollywood retail location into a mini-gallery to host the release with Mr. Fairey. Just as sculptor Jin Young Yu (interviewed), Wang Zhi Jie and Ayako Rokkaku caught our eye at Art Basel Miami last year, the recent Art Hong Kong fair introduced us to the stunning porcelain dress of Beijing artist Li Xiaofeng. Xiaofeng creates clothing from porcelain fragments from the Ming, Qing and Song dynasties and even more amazing are that they are wearable. Take a closer look after the jump…

Michael Kohn Gallery is putting a nice spin on the typical show, presenting patrons with a fully immersive visual and auditory experience with “Dark Night of the Soul,” a collaboration between filmmaker and multidisciplinary talent David Lynch and musical artists Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse, a.k.a.
