After a first look at a new intervention at the Louvre from JR (interviewed) earlier this week, here are photos of the completed project. Pasting over the iconic pyramid in his signature technique was a time-consuming undertaking, but the impressive result is a testament to the French street artist’s artistic vision. Streets: Os Gemeos x JR (Paris)

The Brazilian brothers Os Gemeos are currently in Europe, working on a couple of different projects. Their first stop was in Paris where they collaborated with a long time friend and fellow artist/photographer, JR (interviewed), creating an installation in the tunnels of the Palais de Tokyo. During their stay at the French capital, the twins spent three days creating works for the ongoing Lasco Project curated by Hugo Vitrani. Releases: JR – “Migrants, Walking New York City” Print

Earlier this year, we shared with you the special project that the New York Times Magazine collaborated on with  JR (interviewed) for their Walking New York issue. That cover that resulted from that endeavor has now been released by the French “photograffeur” as a 8 color lithograph through Social Animals. Migrants, Walking New York City will be produced in a run of 180 and cost 800,00 € to add to your collection. Openings: JR – “Crossing” @ Lazarides Rathbone

Crossing, a solo featuring all new works from JR (interviewed) opened up on all three levels of Lazarides Rathbone in London a couple weeks ago. Consisting of large format photographs of his art from the streets, pasted wood pieces, color prints, as well as his signature wood mounted monochromatic paper pieces, the exhibition focuses in on two of the French photographer’s recent series of works – Les Bosquets and Unframed Ellis Island. Rewind: Jul 14 – Oct 25

This latest edition of our Rewind article is headlined by a trailer for a new short film by JR (interviewed) starring Robert De Niro. Entitled Ellis, the footage follows the Academy Award Winning actor as he stars as an immigrant whose pursuit of a new life expired at Ellis Island. Traversing an abandoned hospital complex, De Niro is confronted with ghostly archival photographs of immigrants and hospital patients taken over a century ago pasted up by the JR, part of the French artist’s Unframed series of works. Earlier this month, this year’s Scotiabank Nuit Blanche opened up to the public in Toronto.
