Streets: D*Face (Tokyo)

The UK-based D*Face (interviewed) is currently in Japan to promote his new book – The Art of D*Face: One Man and His Dog. To that end, he will be holding a signing event (tonight) and show at Parco Gallery X in Tokyo where he will also be releasing a Japanese flag version print (seen below). Of course, while in town, he also took time to work on a mural (located in Shibuya). Photos via Mura. Discuss D*Face here.

Releases: Tiffany Bozic – “Strigiformes” Print

In association with her recent showing at the Fecal Face Dot Gallery in San Francisco, Tiffany Bozic has released a print entitled Strigiformes. The striking image of a series of overlapping owls is a reproduction of a painting from the exhibition and is available now. Releases: Mear One – “Transformanation” Print

Later today, at 11am PST, Static Medium will be releasing a new print from Los Angeles street legend Mear One (interviewed) entitled Transformation. Each print is embellished with hand painted details, sized at 18″x18″ image on 20″x22″ sheet, and cost $90.00 (postage $15 USA, $25 INT’L). The release will be timed sale lasting 24 hours with the edition size determined by how many are bought. The main goal of this project is to create and sell limited art edition prints in collaboration with international artists, but also, telling a story about the artists and their work. PressurePrinting.com recently released a postcard portfolio from Dutch artist and illustrator, Femke Heimstra, just on time for her new website launch. Famous for her recognizable “anthropomorphic animals that roam in a dark, fairytale like world, together with all sorts of characters”, she often paints with acrylics on old surfaces like antique panels or books. Tomorrow (November 23, 3-9pm) in New York, Todd James will be releasing a zine at The Newsstand in Brooklyn (inside the Metropolitan Ave.-Lorimer St. stop on the G and L trains). Those attending the event will see a Sword & Sorcery themed installation based on the dungeons and dragons type pieces he has been posting onto his Instagram (some more of which are seen below) recently. Capetown-based artist DALeast is opening a highly anticipated solo show with The Outsiders in Newcastle on the 22nd of November. The title of the show, Redok, comes from a Tibetan phrase meaning “hope and fear,” and represents the emotions the artist tries to show with his works. Danish artist, graffiti writer and illustrator, HuskMitNavn (RememberMyName in Danish), recently released a book of drawings – Offline. The title of the book is the artist’s response to the trend of our life moving into the online realm, with help of virtual communication and social networks.
