Streets: Invader (Bhutan)

Traveling recently to Bhutan, Invader continued his usual practice of getting up with his signature tiled mosaic pieces in the streets. While the French street artist leaving his mark in the Buddhist Kingdom seemed to be well-received by the the locals that he encountered, his choice of placement was not without controversy. With this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii fast approaching, it’s time to preview the annual associated Exploring The New Contemporary Movement group exhibition (see 2017 & 2016 & 2015 & 2014) curated by Thinkspace. Over the weekend, the ever elusive Banksy unveiled a new piece in East Yorkshire in the city of Hull. Stenciled on what looks to be a permanently raised abandoned drawbridge, the image of a boy with a colander helmet can be seen with a cape and sword with the words DRAW THE RAISED BRIDGE! Streets: SNIK (Manchester)

After quick stop to Amsterdam to create their contribution for an upcoming street art museum, SNIK traveled up to Manchester to paint their mural for the Cities of Hope project. Battling the unforgivingly cold rain and snow, the art duo successfully completed Serenity, the first piece from their Tributes to Hope series.
