Thomas Canto recently created a futuristic installation inside of one of the rooms at the Vieux Panier Hotel in Marseilles. This small hotel is built in an old Corsican grocery shop, and it has five unique rooms, each designed in a different style by a contemporary artist for a period of one year. Recently, we received final photos & video footage of an independent project that took place in Wynwood, Miami, during Art Basel Week last year. Initiated by the artists 2501 and Pastel, the Mirrorless project involves three crucial subjects – artist, home and people, that are actually the key elements of works through their interaction with the elements of the installation. Last month, AM stopped by ZieherSmith in New York to take in the grotesque yet beautiful work of Allison Schulnik. Entitled Eager, the name of her newest stop-motion claymation film (which premiered on opening night), the exhibition featured paintings and sculptural works related to the film. One of the launch events during Art Basel Week was Future Relic by Daniel Arsham (seen above with artist DRx Romanelli). Presented by OHWOW Gallery, this event served to debut a collaborative film starring Daniel with fashion designer Richard Chai and features Ben Louis Nicholas as the director of photography and music created by Swiss Beats.
