It looks like Swoon (interviewed) is in London at the moment judging from this piece seen on the streets by the good people at Hooked Blog. The wheatpasted image is modeled after the stunning Thalassa installation she created for the New Orleans Museum of Art back in June and is a marker for her upcoming show at Black Rat Projects next month. The Murmuration installation and show will open on December 1st and seeing that the NY-based artist is already in town preparing makes us excited to see […]
Mars-1 opened up his show, Everything Under The Sun (previewed) to a packed house at Fecal Face Dot Gallery’s temporary space in the inner Richmond area of San Francisco Saturday night (the gallery’s usual spot is under renovation due to a fire at a neighboring building). The show included a few large scale paintings, including a tondo continuing his eye boggling Infinite Tapestry series. The centerpiece of the show was a sculpture installation filled with extra extraterrestrial creatures and landscapes that would seem to dwell […]
During the past week, the duo known as Herakut were in Los Angeles as part of Wende Museum’s Behind The Wall project (covered). However, the artist collective also took time to do a large scale mural which featured their signature style and character design. The wall, which took two days to complete, sits not too far from the city’s Chinatown area and it continues to show the technique that the artists have perfected during their time together. Of note,Herakut will also be releasing a book […]
After almost a year of steadfast anticipation, Tauba Auerbach finally pulled back the curtains and revealed the magic of her newest body of work this weekend at Bergern Kunsthall in Norway. Tetrachromat marks the booming artist’s first solo exhibition since signing with powerhouse Paula Cooper Gallery to great contention last fall, as well as signifies her first museum solo. Long experimenting with themes of dimensionality, the title of the show references a theory which supposes a small percentage of women have four color receptors rather […]

Also included in the show will be works from his global tour to China, Africa and the Middle East to name a few stops. Fans […]

Looks like Urban Outfitters is at it again. This time, they are selling a very familiar looking dog figure that looks like one originally created by one of the biggest names in contemporary art. Neither are strangers to lawsuits, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. In the meantime, unless you have an eight-figure art budget, this may be the most affordable way to get one of these shiny pups into your house – but you may want to hurry. No […]
