A few days after Nuart Festival officially closed their 2017 indoor show (covered), they wrapped up another successful mural project. Teaming up with Smug, Attende AS and students from Kannik Middle School, they produced their inaugural mural for the new Social Inclusion Through Street Art project. Attende AS employs approximately 330 people with disabilities who would otherwise exist without a meaningful work life. Bergen-based artist Naeem Searle aka NIMI recently spent couple of days in Stavanger painting his piece for the latest addition to Nuart Festival‘s ongoing Art City initiative. The Last Traveler is a ‘sister piece’ to NIMI’s mural Sofia and the Mountain (covered), painted for the same project. Nuart Festival just announced the continuation of their series of curated Street Art buses (covered), as part of their on-going project to establish Stavanger as the world’s first ‘Art City’. The latest addition to the fleet of a local bus company Kolumbus has been designed by the M-City. Aside from turning the standard public bus into a three-dimensional, mobile artwork, the Polish artist created an engaged and provocative piece by painting a raft full of people on the side of it. After days of preparation, the central event of each year’s Nuart Festival was held on Saturday, the 10th of September. On view was a group show by participating artists titled Post-Street Art was in the tunnels of Tou Scene. Like in the past, the space of the former brewery was divided between the artists, some sharing the rooms with collaborative installations and some showing works by themselves.
