Over the weekend, the Corey Helford Gallery debuted a new collection of work from artist and visual satirist Ron English (featured). Titled Seasons in Superbia, the show featured the NY-based artist’s ironic take on everything ranging from Peanuts characters to other pop culture icons from the comic book world, film, and animation. Last Sunday, the Wende Museum officially unveiled to the public its Behind The Berlin Wall project which featured Herakut, D*Face’s (interviewed), and RETNA (featured) painting one side (the East Berlin section) with their murals. The Wende Museum, spearheaded by Justin Jampol, is a collections-based education institute which preserves Cold War artifacts and which conceived of the Wall Project almost two years ago to the date. Streets: Herakut (Los Angeles)

During the past week, the duo known as Herakut were in Los Angeles as part of Wende Museum’s Behind The Wall project (covered). However, the artist collective also took time to do a large scale mural which featured their signature style and character design. David Flores and Shepard Fairey (featured) continue to go big as they have now collaborated on a new piece standing in the midst of Downtown Los Angeles. Covering an entire wall, the mural is a combination of Flores’ unique design on one side and on the other, Fairey’s black and white iconography. Just a few days ago, Paul Insect debuted his first major U.S. solo exhibition at Venice’s Post No Bills gallery. Featuring a vast array of original art on paper as well as exclusive limited edition prints, the show illustrated the street artist’s many different talents and interests. Over the weekend, Rivera Gallery unveiled a truly impressive exhibit titled anthro(physis), a show which fused in very interesting ways a variety of artwork ranging from sculpture to paintings.
