Eighteen Gallery in Copenhagen just opened Interior, their first solo show with Todd James, featuring new paintings depicting vibrant indoor spaces. On Friday, the 20th of January, Format Artspace in Copenhagen will be opening a new exhibition by Carl Krull. Exclusively focused on five series of hand pulled silk-screen prints, Sediment will include new works that for first time in years include colors. Through his simple and unique visual language, the Danish artist manages to get his images from the two-dimensional surface of the paper. Eighteen in Copenhagen, a new space by V1 Gallery, is currently showing 29 Flags, a solo exhibition/installation by Cali Thornhill DeWitt. The exhibition opened on October 13th and will stay on view until October 14th. DeWitt’s new body of work consists of 29 vintage Stars & Stripes with flock lettering reflecting on the infamous moments that marked the last few decades of American life. V1 Gallery is currently showing Geoff McFetridge’s The Quiet Of Not Listening. As his third solo with the gallery in Copenhagen, this exhibition features nine paintings on canvas and five large drawings. Following his signature style of portraying mundane imagery through a flat, minimalist approach, a few of the new works include images of folding chairs. On April 1st, Galleri Benoni in Copenhagen will be opening a new solo from Joram Roukes entitled POV. For this exhibition, the Dutch artist has put together a series of mostly larger oil paintings featuring his observations of everyday life but through the prism of his imagination turn into surreal landscapes. Put together in almost a collaged fashion, these fragmented elements come together to form a cohesive composition that provide an “engaging narrative characterized by beauty, chaos and decay.” Discuss Joram Roukes here.
