Genalguacil is a small town in southern Spain which has been involved in supporting and organizing art projects for the last 20 years. Slowly turning the town into an open space museum, the locals recently invited Javier Calleja from nearby Malaga to add his contribution to the collection. Right after starting their residency at Villa Medici in Rome, Lek & Sowat teamed up with photographers Yves Marchand & Romain Meffre for a fresh new project that is currently showing at Polka Galerie in Paris. Releases: Hendrik Beikirch – “Tracing Morocco” Book

The Montresso Foundation recently released a publication that presents a collaboration with Hendrik Beikirch aka ECB entitled Tracing Morocco. This project included an artistic residency at Jardin Rouge a dozen times since June 2014 during which he created 22 portraits that were showin in Zurich, Cologne, Tolouse, Völklinger and finally at the official book launch in Marrakesh in December of 2015. The book features a collection of Beikirch’s portraits of Moroccan men and women. One month since his series of works were revealed in Jungle refugee camp in Calais, Banksy just created a new piece in London. Discovered earlier today on the French embassy, the stenciled image features a girl from Les Misérables, tearing up as CS gas flows over her. This wall, which includes a French flag and the iconic girl from the famous musical, comments on the events from the 5th and 6th of January when French authorities used tear gas, rubber bullets and concussion grenades while attempting to clean up a section of the camp. Gris1, a member of the infamous DMV crew from France, recently opened his Mixité Sociale solo at Galerie Artistik Rezo in Paris on the 13th of January. The show includes an elaborate installation created in the gallery space, along with several large canvases, ink drawings on paper, and limited edition lithographs.
